October 15th Update on Dad!
Hello Everyone,
It’s hard to believe it’s been almost six months since our last update — and nine months since this whole crazy journey began. What a difference those months have made!
On September 3rd, Dad went to Hamilton General for a follow-up MRI on his spine. The scan showed a bit of lingering inflammation, which the doctors said is completely normal during healing and explains the back pain he’s been experiencing. The best part, there are no more restrictions! The doctor also said Dad no longer needs to follow up with the spine team unless new issues come up (like tingling in his hands).
Dad’s shoulder is still giving him a bit of trouble, so he’ll be following up with his family doctor and osteopath. He’ll continue with physio, and there’s a chance he may need an ultrasound or a bit of cortisone treatments but overall, he’s doing really well.
Today, Dad had his final follow-up appointment with the hospital, and we are so thankful to say that everything looks good. The stiffness in his neck and the lower back discomfort may linger for a while, but with continued exercise and physiotherapy, it should keep improving.
In true Dad fashion, he’s not letting anything slow him down! He recently got back from an 18-day camping trip with Mom and has even been out on the golf course quite a bit this summer. It’s amazing to see how far he’s come. What a change from where we were just a few months ago.
We can’t thank you all enough for the love, support, and prayers that have carried us through these last nine months. When this all began, we had no idea what we were facing or what the outcome would be. But through God’s grace and healing power, Dad is healthy, strong, and doing great.
All glory to God for His faithfulness and healing hand.
With love,
– The Hordyk Girls
